AI Reworder Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy explains how the developer of AI Reworder (“we”) handles information through the AI Reworder Chrome extension, its text-processing service, and its welcome page. For privacy questions and requests, contact alexext24595@gmail.com.
Text processing
AI Reworder processes text in editable fields on websites to rewrite it, correct grammar, or apply another available writing mode. Depending on your settings, selecting eligible text in a supported field automatically starts processing and opens a result popup. You can also start processing with the keyboard shortcut or the field icon; the field icon submits the entire eligible field text.
The extension sends the text being processed and the selected mode over HTTPS to our server, which sends the text and processing instructions to the OpenAI API. The result is returned to the extension. Submitted text may include personal information or personal communications, such as an email or chat draft, if that is the text being processed. Submit only information you are authorized to share for this purpose.
The extension accesses editable fields and text selections locally to provide its controls. It does not upload entire pages, browsing history, or unrelated field contents. Page addresses are not included as separate fields in text-processing requests; addresses contained in submitted text are processed as part of that text.
We do not save submitted text or generated results in a database, text history, or application logs. They are handled temporarily to complete the request and display or apply the result. Text inserted into a website is subject to that website’s own practices.
Technical information and settings
- Installation identifier: The extension generates a random identifier, stores it in Chrome’s local extension storage, and sends it to our server with processing requests to enforce request limits. It identifies an installation, not an account, and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
- IP address: Our server receives your IP address as part of the connection and uses it to limit requests and protect the service. IP addresses and installation identifiers used by the application’s rate limiter are held in server memory. Inactive entries are removed during periodic cleanup, normally within approximately six minutes of their last request, or when the process restarts. They are not included in the application’s processing logs.
- Operational logs: We record technical metadata such as request time, writing mode, model, input character count, processing duration, success status, and error codes to operate and troubleshoot the service. These logs do not contain submitted text or results. They rotate under the server’s storage limits; there is no fixed retention period in days.
- Preferences: Chrome extension storage holds your writing mode, activation method, shortcut, and site-specific preferences. Site preferences include the website origins for which you disable the extension or hide its icon. Preferences use Chrome Sync storage and may be synchronized by Google according to your Chrome settings and Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not send these preferences to our text-processing server or OpenAI.
- Welcome page: On installation, the extension opens our welcome page with the extension ID and, when available, whether its icon is pinned. The extension ID identifies the extension product, not your individual installation. The page can also ask the extension for its pin status to display appropriate instructions. As with other web connections, the hosting infrastructure receives your IP address and ordinary HTTP connection information.
- Support: If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use this to respond and resolve your request, and retain correspondence as needed for that purpose or applicable legal obligations.
We do not use advertising trackers, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools in the extension or welcome page. No account is required.
Service providers and international processing
Our proxy and welcome page are hosted by a third-party hosting provider in the Netherlands. OpenAI processes submitted text to generate results. Information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under the providers’ applicable terms and safeguards. We do not promise that all processing remains in the Netherlands or the European Economic Area.
We send OpenAI API requests with response storage disabled (store: false). This is not a guarantee of zero retention: OpenAI may retain content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days by default, longer where legally required, and may temporarily retain technical application state such as prompt caches under its applicable data controls. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the API customer opts in. We do not opt in to sharing extension text for model training. See OpenAI’s API data controls.
We share information with providers only as necessary to deliver and protect the service. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to address security incidents or abuse. We do not sell user data, use it for advertising, creditworthiness or lending decisions, or transfer it to data brokers. We do not routinely read submitted text. Any human access is limited to what the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy permits, such as specific user consent, security investigations, or legal obligations.
AI Reworder’s use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your choices, rights, and security
You can choose shortcut activation to prevent selection alone from triggering requests, disable the extension on a website, or uninstall it to stop future extension requests. You can manage synchronized extension data through Chrome’s settings. Uninstalling does not necessarily remove previously synchronized data from your Google account or data already processed by service providers.
Where applicable, we process information to provide the service you request, for legitimate interests in service security and reliability, to comply with legal obligations, or with consent where required. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, request portability, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Contact alexext24595@gmail.com to exercise these rights. We may need proportionate verification and can act only on data we hold or control. We cannot retrieve a text history because we do not keep one. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Connections to our service and OpenAI use HTTPS. We restrict administrative access to the service, but no system can guarantee absolute security. The service is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action concerning information under our control.
